The fifty-sixth session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD56) will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 29 January to 7 February 2018.

The Commission is the advisory body responsible for the social development pillar of global development. The priority theme for the 2018 Policy Cycle: "Strategies for eradicating poverty to achieve sustainable development for all".

BJD Re is organizing a side-event to the formal meetings on "Closing the protection gaps for all" focusing on insurance, finance, recovery and resilience topics.

The side-event will be held on Monday 5 February 2018, from 4:30pm to 6:00pm in the Conference Room D at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
