24 course participants from Brunei,  Egypt, Oman, UAE, Sudan, Kenya and Malaysia interacted with resource speakers and each other  at the course organized by the NAM Institute for the Empowerment of Women (NIEW) in partnership with the International Council on Management of Population Programs (ICOMP)..

Course covered:

Session2: Understanding Disaster and Disaster Risk Management
Session 3: Disaster Risk Reduction'
Session 4: Emergency Response
Session 5: Integrating Sexual and Reproductive Health in Disaster Management
Session 7: Recovery and Reconstruction
Session 8: Planning

Participants visited the Kuala Lumpur District Hospital for briefing on Malaysia's Medical Defence Capabilities and the One Stop Crisis Center.

The Resource Panel was composed of Center for Disaster Preparedness from the Philippines and from Malaysia -- International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Mercy Malaysia, National Family Planning Board, ICOMP, International Planned Parenthood Federation

The Course was opened and closed by Hon. Tan Sri Datuk (Dr.) Rafiah Salim, Director of NAM Institute for the Empowement of Women (NIEW)
