IRP Forum 2022

The International Recovery Forum 2022, with the theme, “BRedesigning Systems for Resilience through Recovery: Assessing Progress and the Unfinished Agenda at the Midpoint of the Sendai Framework ,” was held online on 19 January 2022. The Forum was attended by more than 400 live participants from 65 countries. It featured 19 distinguished experts from 13 countries discussing progress, challenges, and lessons in disaster recovery over the first six years of implementing Sendai Framework Priority 4.

Speakers took a forward looking view of emerging challenges and set out an agenda for improving disaster recovery outcomes in the latter half of Sendai Framework implementation. The annual forum is among the main activities managed by the International Recovery Platform (IRP) to share experiences, learning, and evidence to support resilient recovery and building back better. The full-length video of the forum and the individual presentations are available on the IRP website and IRP’s YouTube channel.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful tool to know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables. Good practices and achievements will be highlighted through the online platform.
