臨海部を中心に自動車産業、製鉄、造船などの工業が発展(瀬戸内海工業地域)している。県庁所在地の広島市は政令指定都市であり中国・四国地方最大の都市である。一方で海・山の豊富な自然にも恵まれ、農業・漁業も盛んである。

第二次世界大戦において世界で初めて核兵器による攻撃を受けた広島市を抱えることから、国際的に知名度が高い。また安芸の宮島(厳島)と原爆ドームの2つのユネスコ世界遺産を有しており、日本国外からの観光客も多い。

 

Hiroshima Prefecture is a prefecture of Japan located in the Chugoku region of Honshu. Hiroshima Prefecture borders Okayama Prefecture to the east, Tottori Prefecture to the northeast, Shimane Prefecture to the north, and Yamaguchi Prefecture to the southwest.

Hiroshima is the capital and largest city of Hiroshima Prefecture, and the largest city in the Chūgoku region, with other major cities including Fukuyama, Kure, and Higashi-hiroshima. 

Hiroshima is internationally famous because it was the first city in the world to be attacked by nuclear weapons during World War II.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
