Disaster Reduction Goal

As a Group, we are committed to leverage AXA's risk expertise to empower society to better face risk through a transversal commitment in Risk Research and Education, and since June 2012, through the United Nations Principles for Sustainable Insurance (Founding member) and through global and local initiatives embedded into our businesses practices, as well.

DRR activities
Policies and Programmes in DRR

AXA has two major programs that are proof of this commitment and demonstrate our natural vocation for risk research and education: (i) the AXA Research Fund* which core mission is to finance (€99 million committed) basic research contributing to understand and prevent life, environmental and socio-economic risks, (ii) AXA partnership with CARE**, the international NGO, in a three year program "Where the Rain Falls", to help vulnerable populations better prepare for climate-related risks.
Besides, leveraging the expertise of the risk management teams at Group and local levels, several risk reduction programs have been put in place, notably in support of SMEs (AXA Prevention charters) or local communities. As well, AXA Matrix Risk Consultants, a dedicated team, provides its expertise to commercial clients and AXA subsidiaries.
