Mission

CBi is a private sector driven and UN-supported initiative. Operational and technical support is provided by United Nations Development Programme and United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs while United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction is providing technical advice on disaster risk reduction.

Connecting Business initiative is a demand driven multi-stakeholder initiative transforming the way the private sector engages before, during and after crises to create more resilient communities, increase local capacity and alleviate human suffering. The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
