The Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) is a partnership of humanitarian and development agencies dedicated to building a system of self-regulation based upon quality management and accountability principles. It is committed to promoting greater accountability to people affected by crises and believes that accountable organisations better meet people’s needs, and reduce the possibility of mistakes, abuse and corruption.
Ensuring that affected populations are put at the centre of all humanitarian and development discourse and action (needs assessment, project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and strategic planning).
HAP is a member of the Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action (ALNAP) and People In Aid, and works closely with the IASC Task Force on Accountability to Affected Populations and other quality & accountability initiatives.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
