Mission

The Philippines News Agency (PNA) is a web-based newswire service of the Philippine government.

By operation of Executive Order No. 4 issued by President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III, PNA is under the supervision and control of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO). By authority of the President, PCOO Secretary Herminio B. Coloma has operational control over nine other government media and media-related entities:

1. News and Information Bureau (NIB)
2. Philippine Information Agency (PIA)
3. Government television channels International Broadcasting Network or IBC Channel 13, Radio Philippines Network or RPN Channel 9 and National Broadcasting Network Inc. or NBN Channel 4 on free broadcast
4. Philippine Broadcasting Service - Radio Television Malacañang
5. Bureau of Communications Services
6. National Printing Office
7. Office of the President (OP) Web Development Office

Philippines: Catholic Church shares post-‘Yolanda’ recovery gains
A religious leader in the Philippines has said that during the post-Typhoon Yolanda recovery, more than 30,000 families have benefited from the Catholic Church's PHP 3.2 billion rehabilitation and reconstruction program. The program is one success amid several innovative accomplishments that have helped the Church implement its recovery projects.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
