Mission

The Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (FSD); is the lead organization to this Action. FSD is an international mine action organization based in Geneva, Switzerland. This private, independent, and non-profit organization was created in 1997. Since then, it has implemented a number of mine clearance projects in more than 15 different countries. For the past 5 years, FSD has worked with the European Space Agency (ESA) to develop the use of air borne technology in mine clearing projects, and operates a fleet of four mapping drones.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
