Mission

The overall aim of Wessex Institute is to develop a series of knowledge transfer mechanisms, particularly directed towards the exchange of information between academics and professional users within industry.

This is achieved through a range of activities organized by a dedicated team of staff both within the Institute and its associate companies. A large network of prestigious contacts and links have been established with many organizations throughout the world.

4th international conference on flood recovery, innovation and response
FRIAR 2014 is the fourth Conference of this successful series. The conference started at the Institute of Civil Engineers in London 2008 and was reconvened at the Lombardy Region in Milano in 2010 and in Dubrovnik in 2012.

The organization has no registered commitments.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
