This publication briefly describes and reviews key historical landmarks and signal accomplishments of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center's programme activities, with an emphasis on the evolution from current strengths and abilities and how they can lead a process towards furthering the innovation, collaboration, capacity development and practice across the spectrum of future disaster and risk management concerns in Asia and the Pacific. While it seeks to draw on the past, acknowledging current strengths, it is also attentive to emerging needs of countries.
