The strategy aims at outlining a vision, strategic priorities and core areas of implementation for disaster risk reduction in the Arab region, as well as to enhancing institutional and coordination mechanisms, and monitoring arrangements to support the implementation of the Strategy at the regional, national and local level through preparation of a Programme of Action.
It will complement existing and on-going efforts in disaster risk reduction by national institutions and regional technical organizations.
