The International Recovery Platform Herald (IRP Herald) is the periodic newsletter of the International Recovery Platform. The IRP Herald reports on IRP activities and serves as the knowledge report for the annual International Recovery Forum, as well as recovery-related content from other major conferences.

IRP Herald Volume 18 is the knowledge report for the International Recovery Forum 2017: Building Back Better Towards Resilient and Healthy Communities. This edition of the IRP Herald highlights key experiences and lessons from speakers on the recovery challenges from recent disasters, the Southern Thailand Floods in January 2017 and the Kumamoto Earthquake in April 2016. This edition will also share the two topics covered in the panel discussions: how to prepare to Build Back Better in recovery, rehabilitation, and reconstruction; and how health considerations were taken into account in the recovery process.

IRP Herald Volume 18 is available in both English and in Japanese.
