The Manchester Briefing on COVID-19: International lessons for local and national government recovery and renewal, Issue 31

Source
University of Manchester

The fortnightly briefing, produced by Alliance MBS and the Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute, brings together international lessons for local and national government recovery and renewal in the wake of the pandemic, and has been running ever since the start of the crisis.

This week’s Briefing also outlines some key challenges faced, and the coping strategies used, by LGBTIQ+ people during COVID-19. Furthermore, the briefing shares lessons from:

  • Kenya & Brazil – disability-inclusive recovery;
  • Bangladesh – WASH response during COVID-19;
  • Austria & Belgium – impacts of the pandemic on commuter behaviour;
  • New Zealand – support for returning school children and staff;
  • Tanzania & VFL – community inclusion in disaster risk management.
