Recover Planning Process & Related Case Studies of the Great East Japan Earthquake

This paper provides an in-depth analysis of the recovery efforts following the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan in 2011. It highlights the challenges faced during the recovery process, including the need to secure new lands close to the original village, build meeting places and parks in each district, and establish public service facilities and stores. The recovery efforts also differed among municipalities, with some implementing separate relocation plans, collective relocation plans, or combination relocation plans. It also outlines various projects aimed at supporting disaster victims' lives, maintaining evacuation roads, and supporting temporary fish markets and local and handmade products.
