Report of the Secretary-General on the Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 (2024)

The present report has been prepared pursuant to the request of the General Assembly in its resolution 78/152 on disaster risk reduction. It provides an overview of progress towards the goal, global targets and priorities for action of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 and includes an update on implementation of the calls to action set out in the midterm review of the Framework.
The report includes a section on the implementation of the United Nations action plan to ensure that every person on Earth is protected by early warning systems by 2027 (the Early Warnings for All initiative). The report also contains an overview of the global response to address the impacts of the El Niño phenomenon.
