Mission

Public Health England, an executive agency of the Department of Health, was established on 1 April 2013 to bring together public health specialists from more than 70 organisations into a single public health service. PHE works with national and local government, industry and the National Health Service to protect and improve the nation's health and support healthier choices. PHE is responsible for protecting the nation’s health by preparing for public health emergencies and supporting the public so they can protect and improve their own health.

UK recovery handbook for biological incidents

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
