The WHRC of the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) is a centre of competence specialized in interdisciplinary research on environmental, socio-economic, technical and cultural dimensions of the built environment in developing countries.
Post-disaster reconstruction is one of the key competences of the WHRC that is pursued through research, consultancies, policy advocacy and education in partnerships with academic institutions, NGOs, public and private agencies and community organizations in low-, middle-, and high-income countries.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
