Mission

Sindh Social Development Network (SSDN) was established in 2005 with a vision to develop a support mechanism for the local communities in Sindh to realize their potentials as they could rise against poverty and enjoy the blessings of decent livelihood to a period stretched to coming generations.

Sindh Social Development Network (SSDN) is a not-for-profit, non-government, people centered civil society organization committed to engage the vulnerable sections of society in poverty eradication through capacity building, improved knowledge base, better understanding how to appreciate the resources and skills available to them and human dignity. To achieve the targets Sindh Social Development Network (SSDN) will design training, advocacy, networking and experience sharing processes. SSDN has a network of civil society organizations working in various districts of Sindh, especially, Badin, Umerkot, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Matyari and Hyderabad.

Sindh Social Development Network (SSDN) considers Environment, human development and sustainable decent livelihood a triangle must for the survival ofhuman beings. There is an immediate need to address issues linked with environment, human development and sustainable decent livelihood. In this regard Sindh Social Development Network (SSDN) aims to work on these thematic areas: Environment, Education, Gender, Human Rights and Poverty Eradication. Sindh Social Development Network (SSDN) is registered under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance, 1961.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
