Kerala Integrated Water Resources Management

Source
Kerala State Disaster Management Authority

The report on Kerala Integrated Water Resources Management was prepared as part of the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) following the severe floods and landslides in Kerala, India, in August 2018. The primary objective was to review and improve water resources management practices, which were identified as a significant contributor to the floods.

The report focuses on three broad categories: river basin management, management of water resources for irrigation and water supply, and storage and use of water for electricity generation. It also analyzes current policies and measures, the causes of the floods, and their interlinkages with water resources management, water needs, and spatial planning.
