Purpose of workshop:

The purpose of the DRM workshop is both to develop practical skills for humanitarian practitioners or volunterers who are involved in initiatives across the Disaster Risk Management Cycle (DRMC) , this including work in complex emergencies, in both Australia and overseas.

This is a practically-based intensive workshop which combines both classroom teaching and, for those seeking advanced standing towards off-campus graduate courses offered by three Australian universities, follow-up assignments.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is designed both for humanitarian practitioners and volunteers who are likely to be working in either Australia or overseas.

Organisations (and separate individuals) include:

  • Australian and overseas Emergency Managers involved in various initiatives across their respective Emergency Management Plans.
  • NGO and UN agency staff supporting supporting overseas humanitarian situations.
  • Business sector stakeholders involved in supporting domestic or overseas humanitatian initiatives
  • Churches or community groups involved in supporting humanitarian recovery initiatives.
  • Students studying this subject as part of their university studies.
  • Other humanitarian stakeholders such as media representatives, volunteers, or consultants

Fees:

AUD $1,500 (excl. of GST) for three day workshop only

AUD $1,750 (excl. of GST) for workshop plus follow-up assignment
