Mission

CLAMED tiene la misión de fomentar la prevención y la disminución de los efectos de los desastres causados por peligros naturales, tecnologicos y sanitarios sobre la salud y calidad de vida de la población cubana y sobre la economía nacional, a partir del desarrollo de intervenciones preventivas integrales, eficientes y oportunas, desde el sector salud, con un carácter multidisciplinario, intersectorial y un componente de participación social en cada una de las etapas del ciclo de los desastres. Extiende su accionar de cooperación técnica en salud y desastres a otros pueblos de la región del Caribe y América Latina a través de la estructura del Sistema Nacional de Salud y en cumplimiento de sus prioridades y objetivos de trabajo trazados.

Disaster Reduction Goal

El estudio y la colaboración aplicada a las diferentes disciplinas de la salud para prevenir, proteger, preparar, rehabilitar y dar respuestas inmediatas a los problemas de salud que resultan de un desastre, en coordinación con otras disciplinas relacionadas con el manejo global de desastres.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
