Mission

The International Journal of Disaster Risk Science is supported by the National Disaster Reduction Center, Ministry of Civil Affairs of China. The journal is published quarterly by Beijing Normal University. Its editorial Office is at the Academy of Disaster Reduction and Emergency Management of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and Ministry of Education at Beijing Normal University. Its operation is jointly managed by the State Key Laboratory of Earth Surface Processes and Resource Ecology, the Key Laboratory of Environmental Change and Natural Disaster of the Ministry of Education, and the International Human Dimensions Program on Global Environmental Change – Integrated Risk Governance or IHDP-IRG Project Office. Publishing and distribution services are provided by the Beijing Normal University Publishing Group.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
