Mission

Monash University is an Australian public research university based in Melbourne, Australia.

The University hosts the Monash University Disaster Resilience Initiative (MUDRI) as part of the Accident Research Centre which has been established to harness Monash university-wide expertise with the goal of strengthening community-based disaster resilience. It aims to provide the evidence to shape new approaches to disaster preparedness and management in the context of Council of Australian Governments' National Strategy for Disaster Resilience.

National Gender and Emergency Management guidelines (Australia)

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
