The Post Flood Recovery Needs Assessment offers an objective basis for recovery planning and measures for reducing future risks. It estimates the impact of the 2017 floods that affected the Terai region and to identify medium-term recovery needs.

This framework document encapsulates the vision and strategic objectives that guide recovery in post-earthquake Nepal. It also includes the policy and institutional frameworks for recovery and reconstruction and outlines implementation arrangements, projected financial requirements and immediate next steps necessary for recovery.

This post-earthquake assessment on food security, livelihoods and early recovery was conducted in September and October 2015 both as a monitoring exercise and to further inform broader early recovery efforts identified as priorities in the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment, including food security, livelihoods, agriculture, service access and protection.

The report presents a comprehensive post disaster needs assessment exercise, launched with response and relief efforts at the request of the Government of Nepal, with the objective to estimate damages and losses caused by the earthquake.

Nepal’s national action plan on disaster management consists of four main plans on: disaster preparedness, disaster response, disaster reconstruction and rehabilitation action, and disaster mitigation. The plan is presented in the form of a matrix indicating priority item groups, activities, time schedule, and executing agencies.
