Community managed disaster risk reduction in high altitude regions

This issue presents articles covering different aspects of community-managed approach in disaster risk reduction context. Practitioners have shared learning from project implementation with disaster affected and at risk communities of Sri Lanka and West Bengal states of India. Key articles from experts include: (i) role of women in community recovery; (ii) Green school safety in high altitude places, Children and participatory risk assessment; (iii) Ecology based and women led resilient livelihood recoveries; and (iv) financial instruments for economic recovery.
