This recovery status report focuses on the intensive recovery interventions of the international humanitarian community and the Government of Myanmar following the unprecedented damages and losses caused by Nargis. It addresses the need to give priority to long-term recovery activities such as livelihood strengthening, community infrastructure and disaster risk reduction; and raises questions about what other coordination mechanism can be put in place to ensure continued collaboration between various stakeholders.

This report was developed as collaboration between the Government of Myanmar, the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) and the International Recovery Platform (IRP).
