This item has been designed to assist local governments in navigating disaster recovery. They provide concise directions for actions to take to expedite and streamline the recovery process.

This checklist identifies 12 actions city managers and leaders can take before disaster hits to launch an effective recovery. Any of these 12 actions can be integrated into a pre-disaster recovery plan. It also details 10 steps for launching community recovery when disaster strikes.
