The Capacities for Resilience in the Caribbean project aims to enhance disaster resilience in the region.

The project focuses on enhancing disaster resilience by improving national recovery frameworks in the Eastern Caribbean. It aims to strengthen preparedness, response, and recovery capacities in countries facing multiple hazard risks. By enhancing these frameworks, the project seeks to enhance the region’s ability to recover effectively after disasters.

To empower communities by enhancing their resilience, it emphasizes gender-responsive disaster response planning and community-level preparedness. By considering gender dynamics, the project aims to create more inclusive and effective disaster management strategies.

The initiative covers several Caribbean countries and is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with funding from the Government of Japan.
