The “Conference on Promotion of Employment Support and Job Creation for the Disaster Victims” was established with the purpose of formulating the overall countermeasures across the ministries to promote employment support and job creation for the disaster victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Through the Conference, the whole government has made effort in deciding the countermeasures to support the disaster victims’ employment and livings.

One of the basic guidelines is to create employment opportunities for disaster victims through restoration projects and to utilize companies and resources affected by the disaster. By fully taking into consideration the desires of the disaster victims and local companies, the project can enable the disaster victims to gain employment in areas outside the disaster areas if they wish, thus supporting their work and livelihood as a whole country.
