Liaison Journal: Lessons from Nepal and other recent disasters (Spring 2016)

Source
Center for Excellence in Disaster Management & Humanitarian Assistance (CFE-DMHA)

The spring 2016 issue of Liaison focuses on lessons from Nepal and other recent disasters. This issue features articles exploring lessons learned from the Nepal earthquake response, in the field of logistics, partnerships and civil-military cooperation. Authors call for more investment in preparedness, training of staff and also in building back better. For instance, while debris management and urban rubble might present a challenge, they are also a resource for rebuilding and developing, which can help for the transition to recovery and capacity-building.

Liaison is CFE-DM’s biannual journal of disaster management and humanitarian relief collaborations. Articles are original work from throughout the Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (DMHA) community focusing on advances, partnerships, technology and applied research, and training and education. The journal aims to promote the ability of  DMHA partners to learn from one another through lessons learned to build a stronger DMHA community through shared learning.
