India: Standard Operating Procedure for Heat Wave in Gorakhpur

An SOP for heatwave has been developed by the District Disaster Management Authority of Gorakhpur with technical support from UNICEF, UP. In the SOP, the roles and responsibilities of all the departmental stakeholders have been clearly identified and comprehensively described for the mitigation of heatwaves.

Apart from the above measures, SOP describes the innovative and economic aspects that could be adopted in day to day life to escape from the aftermath of the heatwave.
