The Government of Togo, with the support of the World Bank through the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction (GFDRR) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), led the process of assessment of damage, losses and reconstruction and rehabilitation needs assessment after the 2010 floods (PDNA) with intention to carry out a socio-economic analysis based on the existing situation and on the impact of damage and losses linked to floods on the national economy.

The result of the assessment will target the priority intervention sectors on which action should be taken to better prevent risk and better manage the impacts of floods or other disasters in the future. Lessons learned from this assessment will inform the development of an appropriate recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction program.
