Mission
Based on Presidential Regulation Number 92 of 2020, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry has the task of administering government affairs in the environmental and forestry sector to assist the President in administering state government.
In carrying out the tasks mentioned above, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry has the following functions:
- Formulation, stipulation and implementation of policies in the field of consolidating forest areas and managing the environment in a sustainable manner, conserving management of natural resources and their ecosystems, increasing the carrying capacity of watersheds and forest rehabilitation, sustainable forest management, increasing the competitiveness of the primary industry of forest products, controlling environmental pollution and damage, waste management, hazardous and toxic materials, and hazardous and toxic waste, climate change control, forest and land fire control, social forestry and environmental partnerships, and law enforcement in the environmental and forestry sector;
- Coordinating and synchronizing the implementation of policies in the field of sustainable environmental management, increasing the carrying capacity of watersheds and forest rehabilitation, controlling pollution and environmental damage, managing waste, hazardous and toxic materials, and waste of hazardous and toxic materials, controlling climate change, controlling forest and land fires, environmental partnerships, and law enforcement in the environmental and forestry sector;
- Coordinating the implementation of tasks, coaching, and providing administrative support to all organizational elements within the Ministry of Environment and Forestry;
- Management of state property/wealth which is the responsibility of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry;
- Supervision of the implementation of tasks within the Ministry of Environment and Forestry;
- Implementation of technical guidance and supervision of the implementation of the affairs of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in the regions; And
- Implementation of substantive support to all elements of the organization within the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
