PROCULTHER-NET technical bulletin - issue 2

Source
PROCULTHER

This technical bulletin from PROCULTHER-NET presents recent developments in the protection of cultural heritage in disaster risk management. It includes testimonies of cultural heritage protection on the ground, and many of the articles bring the use of digital technologies for cultural heritage into focus, key for risk preparedness and damage assessment.

It includes sections on prevention – detailing the restoration of the Sümela Monastery in Türkiye;  preparedness – presenting  best practices in the field of training; on response – focusing on the theme of data and apps and their importance in the context of the war in Ukraine; and on on recovery – making the case for sorting rubble of immovable cultural heritage. The final 'focus-on' section looks into the recording of damage to cultural heritage.
