It is intended to help understand better the damages and losses caused by the earthquake and the tsunami. The document reports on the initiatives of the government and the implications for tsunami preparedness in terms of non-structural measures and structural measures (pre-disaster education, evacuation areas, etc.). It also highlights the profile of the earthquake, casualties, damage to economical bases, evacuation, and other data with photographs.
