Disaster assistance: a guide to recovery programs
The Federal Government helps states and localities to prepare for disasters by providing financial and technical assistance for emergency planning and training, conducting exercises of and building and maintaining an emergency management infrastructure. In a catastrophic or major disaster incident, the array of programs described in this guide may be activated to provide assistance during disaster recovery, depending upon the circumstances, community needs, and available resources. The main purpose of this publication is to reflect in one document recovery assistance and services available to victims of a disaster incident.
