What is it?

The IRP Recovery Help Desk is a mechanism to submit requests for disaster recovery-related guidance, capacity building, or technical assistance to the IRP for support.

How does it work?

The Recovery Help Desk operates through the IRP platform. Requests received through the Recovery Help Desk are routed by the Secretariat to appropriate IRP Steering Committee Member agencies for review. Responses to requests will be coordinated through the IRP Secretariat. At this time, the Recovery Help Desk is only open to requests from representatives of national governments and subnational governments.

How do I submit a request?

Representatives of national governments may submit a detailed request to the Recovery Help Desk for support.

FAQ

Requests for support may be submitted through the request form on this page. Requests are coordinated by the IRP Secretariat to match requests to appropriate IRP Steering Committee member agencies for support. Please be advised that although all requests will be acknowledged, not all requests can be acted upon by IRP, depending on the volume and nature of requests.

Requests may be submitted by completing the webform on this page. 

At this time, the Recovery Help Desk is open to requests from representatives of national governments and subnational governments.

Any government official may submit a request, using their professional email address. An official letter is not required to submit the request.

Representatives from non-governmental sectors may contact the IRP Secretariat through the Contact Us webform on this website for a response. However, at this time, the Recovery Help Desk mechanism is only available to government agencies.

The Recovery Help Desk offers a range of support options, including guidance, capacity building, training. The type of support offered may vary, depending on the nature of the request and the responding agency.

The Recovery Help Desk cannot offer financial support. There is no cost to submit a request to the Recovery Help Desk.

IRP is a global partnership. Government representatives from all countries and regions are welcome to use the Recovery Help Desk.

The IRP Secretariat will acknowledge receipt of requests immediately. IRP will send a response to the request, including if the request cannot be fulfilled, within a month. If the request is related to a current emergency, the inquiring agency should contact country or regional offices for more immediate support.

If the requesting agency does not receive any acknowledgment of their request, they are encouraged to contact the IRP Secretariat through the Contact Us form.

When a request is submitted to the Recovery Help Desk, the request will be acknowledged by the IRP Secretariat from the Recovery Help Desk. If no response is received within one month, the inquiring agency is encouraged to reply to the acknowledgement email for follow up support.

The Recovery Help Desk is coordinated/managed by the IRP Secretariat. The IRP Secretariat is located in Kobe, Japan.
