An earthquake of moment magnitude (MW) 5.7 (local magnitude, ML6.4) struck the Jajarkot districtof Karnali Province in western Nepal on November 3, 2023, at 23:47 local time.

The earthquake on November 3, 2023, and the aftershock of November 6, 2023 not only left a trail of destruction but also underscored the critical importance of understanding and mitigating the secondary hazards, such as landslides, that often follow seismic activity.

This report outlines the collaboration between NDRRMA and Geotech Solutions International Pvt. Ltd., emphasizing the need for a comprehensive evaluation of the earthquake-induced landslide risk in the Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim Districts.

This report provides an overview of the scope and objectives of the project, highlighting the significance of early detection and mitigation strategies in reducing the potential impact of earthquake-induced landslides.
