Hybrid structure manual for houses that have been built under the housing reconstruction programme

Source
Nepal - government

This guide outlines the minimum requirements (MRs) for housing reconstruction from the Nepalese National Reconstruction Authority.

The MRs clearly state that for buildings with stone/brick masonry in mud mortar, the number of stories is restricted to only one story if wooden band is used, whereas if a reinforced concrete (RC) band is used, the allowable number of stories is one story plus attic, based on structural analysis.

Hybrid structures are in demand in the reconstruction field. A hybrid structure (mix structure) is the combination of two or more types of structural system that is generally constructed with different techniques and materials in accordance with level of the floor.
