Iceland: Civil protection act (Act no. 82 of 12 June 2008)

This act provides for coordinated civil protection measures in Iceland intended to tackle the consequences of emergency situations that may threaten the life and health of the general public, the environment and/or property. It regulates the planning, organization and implementation of measures against natural or man-made disasters, and the provision of emergency assistance and recovery.
