Leadership dispatches: Chile's extraordinary comeback from disaster

Source
Stanford University

This book looks at how nation's leaders, in government, business, religion, academia, and beyond, facilitated Chile's recovery. It argues that strong national leadership on the one hand, and deeply rooted institutional practices on the other played a key role in Chile's remarkable comeback from the Chilean earthquake. Besides from offering reasons for fast recovery from the earthquake, the book highlights the importance of strategic and deliberative thinking in bouncing back from disasters. It uses the Chilean story to provide lessons for a broad range of organizations and governments and gives an instructive look at how those with the greatest responsibility for a country, company, or community should lead.
