Saint Lucia is highly exposed to the impacts of natural hazards – including earthquakes and hurricanes,—has suffered major disasters in the past decades, and is currently coping with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With more frequent and intense extreme weather events expected in the coming decades due to climate change, there is an urgent need to prepare for timely, effective, and efficient disaster recovery, while building resilience at all levels and sectors of government and society. This involves strengthening the capacity of key national sectors to develop and execute climate resilient recovery project portfolios that are gender responsive and disability inclusive.

This report presents the results of the Sectoral Recovery Capacity Assessment (SRCA) undertaken in Saint Lucia to assess the capacity of the country’s tourism sector to plan, design, implement, monitor, and evaluate resilient and inclusive recovery projects.
