Report On Post Disaster Needs Assessment Himachal Pradesh Monsoon – 2023 Floods, Cloudbursts and Landslides

Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA) conducted a comprehensive assessment of the situation. The Disaster Analysis and Management (Loss, Rescue Relief, and Rehabilitation) report covers the period from 2007 to 2015. It includes data on losses, rescue efforts, relief measures, and rehabilitation strategies.

A Baseline Survey was conducted to assess the existing knowledge level, awareness, and preventive practices related to disaster management in Himachal Pradesh. This survey aimed to identify gaps and areas for improvement in disaster preparedness and response.

The Preliminary Assessment highlighted severe damage caused by heavy rainfall-triggered landslides in July 2023. The report emphasizes the need for targeted recovery and reconstruction efforts.
