Emergency management conference
About EMC
The Emergency Management Conference (EMC) is the annual conference presented by the Emergency Services Foundation to provide a forum for the exchange of the valuable information gained by emergency services workers in the line of duty, and in research.
Australia's annual conference and trade expo for police, fire, ambulance, response agencies, NGOs, local & state government response and recovery agencies. Over 550 delegates attended the biggest EMC Conference yet in 2013.
This year, the conference theme is ‘New Realities’.
The industry has to face a raft of ‘new realities’ in legislation, EM structure, technology, internal management, community issues and expectations. Some of these realities are steps forward; some are difficult challenges. All are ‘ripe’ for discussion.
Along with emergency management, this year conference will cover topics of disaster risk management, including communicating and public information, responses in natural hazards, community recovery and resillience.
EMC is organised by the Emergency Services Foundation.
Delegates will attend from all emergency services, Federal, State and Local government departments and community groups.
