African Perspectives on Disaster Risk Reduction, Issue 1 (June 2017)

Source
Gravitazz Institute for Disaster Reduction and Emergency Management

The first edition of this quarterly series showcases a selection of four papers, which address the impacts of droughts and floods, disaster resilience, and the role of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in disaster management. As part of the DRR Expert Conversation Series in each issue, external experts have taken a closer look at the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 (SFDRR) in Africa, in an exclusive interview.

The African Perspectives on Disaster Risk Reduction series aims to showcase expert views, experiences and best practices in DDR in the African context. The peer-reviewed series seeks to spur knowledge exchange through evidence-based, policy-relevant and applied research and to address pressing questions relating to disaster risks, environmental hazards and climate change.

For any questions, suggestions, feedback, or comments e-mail [email protected]. Abstract submissions for the second edition are due 30 June 2017. Download the call for abstracts here.
