This report provides an evaluation of the severe and multidimensional impacts of the 2022 floods across six states in Nigeria (Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Jigawa, Kogi and Nasarawa). Conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics, National Emergency Management Agency, supported by the United Nations Development Programme, it reports on the extensive losses and underlines the need for robust flood risk mitigation and recovery strategies.

Key findings of the report highlight that 64% of households were affected by the floods, with rural areas significantly more impacted than urban areas. The floods caused widespread damage to agriculture, leading to substantial income losses and severe effects on food security. The report also notes a generally low recovery rate among affected communities, underscoring the urgent need for planned recovery efforts and future resilience building.
