IRP Herald Vol 34: The Fifth World Reconstruction Conference Organized Under the Umbrella of IRP
The International Recovery Platform Herald (IRP Herald) is the periodic newsletter of the International Recovery Platform. The IRP Herald reports on IRP activities and serves as the knowledge report for the annual International Recovery Forum, as well as recovery-related content from other major conferences.
IRP Herald Volume 34 is the knowledge report for the IRP-supported technical sessions at the World Reconstruction Conference 5: Reconstructing for a sustainable future: Building resilience through recovery in a COVID-19 Transformed World. The World Reconstruction Conference 5 (WRC5) was co-organized by UNDP, GFDRR/the World Bank, and UNDRR, and was organized for the first time under the umbrella of the International Recovery Platform during the preparatory days of the 7th Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction. The outcomes of the WRC5 have been published in the Joint Communique on Reconstructing for a Sustainable Future, while the proceedings have been captured in the WRC5 Knowledge Report. The IRP Secretariat supported the organization of two technical sessions at the WRC5, "Responding to recovery challenges in the urban environment", and "Pre-Disaster Recovery Planning".
