Tanzania: The Disaster Management Act, 2015

This act sets out a comprehensive legal framework for disaster risk management. It provides for the establishment of Tanzania Disaster Management Agency (TDMA), which is the national focal point for coordination of disaster risk reduction and management in the country. The Agency shall act as the central planning, coordinating and monitoring institution for the prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and post disaster recovery, taking into account all potential disaster risks.
