A year ago, the Inter-agency Task Force warned of the risk of a diverging world that could lead to a lost decade for sustainable development. Now, at the halfway mark to implementation of the 2030 Agenda, divergence is our reality.

FAO's Office of Evaluation conducted a real time evaluation across three phases spread over one year, covering specific aspects of the response: coordination between June to October 2020, management at country level, and lessons learnt.

This paper examines the concept of recovery and ‘building back better’ in the context of the Caribbean, paying particular attention to the experience of the selected countries.
